OTHER BENEFITS OF BEING ACTIVE

“A study published in JAMA Oncology shows that small amounts of vigorous intermittent lifestyle physical activity were associated with lower cancer risk. This refers to brief and sporadic bouts of vigorous physical activity during daily living such as bursts of very fast walking or stair climbing for about one to two minutes.”1 “Much evidence shows that physical exercise (PE) is a strong gene modulator that induces structural and functional changes in the brain, determining enormous benefit on both cognitive functioning and wellbeing. PE is also a protective factor for neurodegeneration.”2  “Regular physical activity can keep the muscles around affected joints strong, decrease bone loss and may help control joint swelling and pain. Regular activity replenishes lubrication to the cartilage of the joint and reduces stiffness and pain.”3 We could explore practically any health condition and the results would be the same; Exercise, when done correctly, is only beneficial. So, let’s get moving this week, remembering, we were created to be physically active.
