WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BE ACTIVE?

The simple answer to this question is, “The time that you exercise is the best time.” Exercise in the morning is ideal, but this world is not ideal; therefore whenever you can be active is the best the time to be active. Having regular times and/or incorporating more activity into your daily routine is an excellent approach to improving your health. Seek to set aside 30 minutes each day, done at one time or divided into 5, 10, 15, or 2 minute sessions. Doing this 5 days a week will achieve the CDC’s recommendation to get at least 150 minutes of activity each week. “Meeting this minimum for moderate and vigorous activity can reduce cardiovascular disease mortality by 22% to 31%” This study included 116, 224 participants and was conducted over a 30 year period. It also revealed that the more active you are the better the results; there was a decrease in all cause mortality by 35 to 42% for those being the most active getting 300 minutes each week . Combining moderate intensity with high intensity activity (burst training) was shown to have the greatest effect on longevity. So, let’s get moving this week, remembering, we were created to be physically active.
